After three months of diplomatic work, president Ravalomanana gets a strong sign from the regional organization. "I welcome the decision to convene an extraordinary summit on Saturday June 20th to resolve the crisis in Madagascar ", he delightfully replied.
The suspension of the international Contact Group in which the SADC is represented would justify another option to solve the political crisis in the Great Isle. "The SADC has always been asking for the immediate return to constitutional order and to a democratic government in Madagascar, outlined president Ravalomanana. It is clear that an urgent action is necessary to reach these objectives ".
At least three chiefs of state of the SADC already expressed their position in favour of a military option to restore constitutional order in Madagascar. It will be in any case a means to pressure Andry Rajoelina, self proclaimed chief of state, to review the diagram of his transition thoroughly or to restore the power to the elected president. The restoration of the parliament is also claimed by the SADC.
"I wait with impatience to join the Chiefs of state and Governments of the SADC in this important summit in Johannesburg, declared Marc Ravalomanana. The Madagascan People is grateful to the SADC for its support ".
From this SADC summit, something more than an additional condemnation of the Coup is being expected. At most, a resolution will present the actions to undertake and an indicative calendar. The SADC has a brigade susceptible to intervene in a country member.
